Position Summary:

The Management Associate will provide technical leadership in youth entrepreneurship, youth in agriculture, youth civic engagement, youth engagement in countering violent extremism, youth workforce development, and youth in inclusive economic growth. Specifically, this position is expected to provide leadership for the continued development of program management, program technical support and new business development. The incumbent will lead the conceptualization of proposals in pertinent areas and support on-going projects in the field. The incumbent will represent Creative before expert audiences, clients, and other constituencies. The position is based in Washington, DC and requires some international travel.

Reporting & Supervision:

This position is housed in the EG Division, specifically under the Workforce Development and Youth Practice Area, with the incumbent providing support to both the Workforce Development and Youth Practice Area as well as the Livelihoods and Economic Resilience Practice Area. The position reports to the Practice Area Director or her designee. The position regularly interacts with the Headquarters Support Departments and collaborates with Program and Development Divisions.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Technical leadership of proposals.
  • Expert-level contributions to Creative proposals, programming, and technical resources.
  • Dynamic representation of the Practice Area before clients and critical audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to new business initiatives, including competitive strategy formulation, proposal development and writing, and partnerships formulation.
  • Identifies relevant market trends.
  • Identifies and helps seize discrete market opportunities.
  • Contributes to the design and execution of technical components in on-going field projects.
  • Represents Creative before expert audiences, clients, and other constituencies of interest.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in International Development, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business, International Relations, Political Science, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in project design and writing winning proposals.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in international development, including at least four years of experience working in workforce development, entrepreneurship, inclusive economic growth, and/or youth civic engagement, with USAID and other funders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workforce development, entrepreneurship, inclusive economic growth, youth civic engagement, and related topics.
  • Understanding of USAID operational and contractual requirements.
  • Excellent speaking, writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and teamwork skills, particularly in multi-cultural environments.
  • Verbal and written fluency in a second language, preferably French, Arabic or Spanish.
  • Able and willing to travel up to 20%.
