Your contribution

The COP shall provide overall leadership, direction, program management and oversight, and serve as principal liaison to USAID and national MoH staff. S/he will be driven by commitment to applying commercial enterprise principles to achieve sustainable health impact, and to balancing responsible market growth with reaching under-served populations. S/he will develop an overall vision for the program that integrates condom-related policy, marketing, supply chain and communication inputs.

The basics

S/he will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline, e.g. public policy, business administration, public health, or a related;
  • At least 5 years of senior-level experience leading large-scale, complex HIV and/or public health programs, including supervision of technical staff, preferably in the East and Southern Africa region;
  • Additional 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in HIV prevention, family planning or related fields; experience with public-private partnerships;
  • Demonstrated depth of expertise and experience with policy development, social marketing and commodity management of health products and/or;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships and to work collaboratively with diverse partners including host government agencies, donors, civil society and CBOs;
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to develop and communicate a common vision and foster collaboration across an interdisciplinary team;
  • Prior experience managing PEPFAR and/or USAID-funded agreements or;
  • References will be required;
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
