Help us champion engineering for development.
Engineering is at the heart of our nation and our future: transforming ideas and materials into global infrastructure, products and services that increase the wealth and health of our economy and society. As the UK’s national academy for engineering, we bring together the discipline’s finest minds to promote excellence and champion innovation.
We are looking for an exceptional senior manager to manage and further develop the Academy’s international development programme and policy activities and to build the Academy’s role globally in promoting and catalysing engineering for development.
A good strategic thinker, with well-honed judgement, problem solving and analytical skills, you will manage a team of people running fantastic capacity-building programmes within the Sustainable Development team and help shape their future. These growing programmes, funded by UK Government and corporate foundations, operate in sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia and Latin America.
You will be responsible for building the Academy’s leadership role promoting and supporting engineering for development, drawing upon your extensive experience of delivering activity in developing countries and emerging economies, knowledge of the international development and research landscape, as well as your excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
In return, we offer a fantastic package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and the possibility of flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development.
