Solidarity Center seeks a Co-Director of its Equality and Inclusion Department (EID) to provide strategic programmatic direction and technical expertise on diversity, equality and inclusion to its staff and partners. This individual will collaborate with the existing Co-Director to contribute more broadly to the Solidarity Center’s capacity to integrate inclusive and intersectional approaches to worker organizing and power building. The position is expected to collaborate with the existing co-director on broad equality and inclusion work, with specific responsibility for directing the development and managing the implementation of the global racial and ethnic justice programmatic work. This will include facilitating workshops utilizing an interactive peer-exchange approach on issues related to racial and ethnic justice for Solidarity Center’s partnering unions. To achieve this, the Co-Director will need to build and manage working relationships with Solidarity Center global staff, unions, and allied organizations, coalitions, and networks. Additionally, the Co-Director for Equality and Inclusion must possess a deep understanding of how discrimination and systems of oppression undermine democracy and economic development, with the ability to articulate those issues to donors and other stakeholders. This position requires a significant amount of grant proposal writing, grant management and joint supervision of a small team in Washington. The Co-Directors of the Equality and Inclusion department report directly to the Solidarity Center’s Director of Program Coordination.
