Job Description

We are currently seeking a WASH Sector Manager to serve with our office in Cambodia. We are looking for a leader who will support in the overall water, sanitation and hygiene efforts within our programs to bring lasting change to communities facing difficulties in these areas. This position will have a focus on the training and capacity building of Samaritan’s Purse WASH field staff as well as the continued advancement of our WASH Programming within the larger WASH context in Cambodia. In the role of WASH Sector Manager you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him;
  • Advise on the technical design and implementation of field projects and provide assessments/reports of current efforts. Work with field staff to build consistency across each WASH intervention;
  • Lead the training and development of resources, tools, and knowledge among program staff in the field. Develop both traditional and virtual mechanisms to share best practices (through providing training or resources) with staff that further excellence in the WASH sector;
  • Represent Samaritan’s Purse Cambodia at WASH Working Groups and other WASH-related or donor events. Actively pursue grant/funding opportunities in current fields;
  • Research and test technologies that could be implemented in the field;
  • Work with program managers to ensure high quality program design and implementation and that WASH activities stay within the work plan and within the scope of overall Samaritan’s Purse Cambodia programming including time frame, resource allocation, scope, and risk management;
  • Produce technical writing in the form of grant proposals, case studies, and articles;
  • Review WASH portions of each proposal as outlined in Projects’ awards management process;
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in water supply and sanitation engineering, hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, or related field. At least three (3+) years of experience in similar WASH role; or equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Experience implementing a program in accordance with Samaritan’s Purse Project Management policies and procedures is desirable;
  • Experience working in Southeast Asia is desirable with a thorough knowledge of a wide range of WASH needs and appropriate interventions;
  • Strong monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and financial management experience;
  • Proven international management and leadership experience;
  • Proficient in Auto CAD, EPANET 2, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Diplomatic in communications with all NGO, governmental, and community partners;
  • Able to coach and mentor others;
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies (required).
