Cowater is currently accepting applications for a talent pool of experienced Project Managers in Ghana for future long-term positions in operations, administration, and logistics. Fluency in English is required, and applicants should be based in Accra, Ghana with permission to live and work.
Education
- Advanced (post-graduate) degree in political sciences, law, international development, economics, finance, business or public administration, project management or social sciences.
Minimum Experience
- Previous experience (10 years or more preferred) managing international development programming - with a focus on long-term and high value programming;
- Experience managing international development programming with a total project value of over $5,000,000 CAD;
- Significant experience working in Ghana and the wider region;
- Experience leading preparation of key project documents including annual workplans financial, administrative, and narrative reports;
- Experience engaging and working closely with multiple international development stakeholders in developing countries including government authorities and donors (such as Global Affairs Canada, UKaid, USAID);
- Proven experience managing the entire project lifecycle from start to finish including proposal, development of work plans and milestones, expenditure forecasts and summaries, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and communications;
- Demonstrated ability to ensure cost-effectiveness of services delivered within a project;
- Experience identifying risks and opportunities and developing problem solving strategies;
- Demonstrated experience managing the following types of services: administrative services; financial management activities; and logistical and coordination activities.
Key Skills/Responsibilities
- Ensuring the overall quality and management of all services offered by the project;
- Leading the preparation of all key project documents including Annual Work Plans, project budgets and financial reports;
- Planning and coordinating administrative, financial and logistics management services and ensuring compliance with schedules and strong quality of deliverables;
- Developing and maintaining networks of key stakeholders (government, civil society, other donors, private sector);
- Planning and coordinating procurement services of goods and services, including locally engaged subject-matter experts;
- Overseeing quality assurance and ensuring accuracy of reporting and invoicing for services rendered;
- Ensuring effective management and internal monitoring of project progress and results, including managing through project issues and problems as they arise.
Language Proficiency
- An advanced working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is required.
