ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead our Asia-based and Australian security Information & Analysis (I&A) team in this senior leadership role, responsible for delivering timely, audience-focused security intelligence across the eastern hemisphere. This includes managing high-priority threat alerts, regional forecasting, and global issue analysis.

The role plays a critical part in supporting operational planning and crisis response through actionable insights, while ensuring seamless global threat monitoring during Sydney’s operational hours. It involves close coordination with teams in London and collaboration with counterparts in Dubai and China to ensure comprehensive, client-centric security coverage across the region.

Working in partnership with the Chief Security Analyst (West), this role ensures consistency and quality in global security analysis. It also leads the development of I&A capabilities through training, standard operating procedure development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

As a key representative of International SOS, the Chief Security Analyst (East) engages in client consulting, media, and marketing opportunities. This is a high-impact role requiring deep regional expertise, strategic leadership, and the ability to align intelligence outputs with both client and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee real-time and strategic intelligence for internal and client-facing needs;
  • Lead regional team performance, crisis response, and content quality;
  • Direct training, SOP development, and intelligence best practices;
  • Ensure consistency across global reporting and risk assessments;
  • Represent International SOS in senior client and media engagements;
  • Contribute to bespoke security consulting services;
  • Collaborate on tool improvements and knowledge systems.

ABOUT YOU

Experience & Skills:

  • 10+ years in security intelligence (military, government, NGO, private sector, or academic);
  • Strong leadership in cross-cultural and remote team management;
  • Expert in open-source intelligence, structured analysis, and crisis management;
  • Extensive experience working on global security issues and themes in addition to relevant regional experience across multiple continents. Experience in assessing and forecasting extreme weather events and their impact desired;
  • Public speaking and training delivery experience.

Education:

  • Master’s degree or professional equivalent in security intelligence, international relations, or related field.

Languages:

  • Excellent English (written and spoken);
  • Regional languages highly desirable.

Travel & Availability Requirements

  • Regular business travel to Security Centres (Sydney, New Delhi, Dubai, Tokyo and other Assistance Centres) and attending conferences and meetings, to meet customers and partners and other global travel as required by the business;
  • Participate in on-call roster as required.
