Are you interested in the role of international and local development finance institutions and in mobilising private finance for inclusive and sustainable development? Do you have experience in blended finance and other modalities to leverage private finance for sustainable development, including green finance? We are looking for a junior policy officer to work on blended finance for development in Maastricht.
The European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) is a leading independent ‘think tank' that wants to make policies in Europe and Africa work for inclusive and sustainable development. We have two offices: in Maastricht (the Netherlands) and Brussels (Belgium).
Our more than 60 staff members from over 25 countries worldwide provide independent research, advice and practical support to policymakers, advisors and practitioners in Europe, Africa and beyond. Our focus is on EU foreign policy and policies related to conflict, migration, governance, sustainable food systems, regional integration, business, finance and trade.
The blended finance for development work falls under our Economic and Agricultural Transformation programme, which wants to help African and European institutions accomplish strategies for sustainable economic and agricultural transformation in Africa.
The work of the Blended Finance for Development team is centered around the key issues of leveraging private finance for sustainable and inclusive economic transformation and development in low-income countries. We put great emphasis on reform dynamics in developing countries, in particular Africa, and on the European financial architecture for external investment, in the context of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Special attention is also given to the role of development finance institutions (DFI) in mobilising finance for agriculture and green finance to tackle climate mitigation and adaptation.
You are based in our Maastricht office and will report to the head of the Trade, Investment and Finance Programme.
