Working closely with the Director of Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) the successful candidate will develop, and in collaboration with the team, execute communication strategies that drive engagement, enhance brand visibility and position the organization as a thought leader. You will be working closely with the development team who engages with key partners & donors, the global advocacy and client services teams in the regions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the strategic engagement and event plan to cultivate relationships with global and regional business leaders, decision-makers, and influencers across the public and private sector from think tanks to industry associations.
  • Design and lead the implementation of communications strategies that connect and integrate all marcomms activities across the organization to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all communications channels.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of key global and regional events, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align engagement activities with strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration that enhance brand visibility and drive business growth.
  • Cultivate relationships with media partners and serve as a media liaison, proactively pitching stories and maximizing opportunities in the media.
  • Work closely with the content and digital marketing teams to profile the organization’s work, milestones and achievements, by developing and implementing activities that contribute to a well-defined media presence of our senior executives and experts.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Director of Brand, Marketing and Communications, providing strategic counsel and support in the delivery of the integrated strategy.
  • Deepen audience understanding to ensure targeted and effective engagement and communications activities across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and best practices to better govern and coordinate across teams with streamlined engagement and communications processes.
  • Critically evaluate and in close collaboration with the team report on the success of the engagement & communications activities and make recommendations to enhance future performance.
  • Develop and maintain an informed awareness of relevant projects and contribute to the management of the integrated marcomms and editorial calendar.
  • In collaboration with the team monitor media coverages and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks, providing strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Stay informed about engagement strategies and communications trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance engagement and reach.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years professional experience of strategic engagement and relationship building in marketing & communications including PR and event management.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful engagement and event strategies.
  • Demonstrated communications and media relations experience, ideally within financial services, and with a network in media to draw from.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a keen understanding of how marketing & communications can support and advance organizational objectives.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize, contextualize and synthesize large amounts of information while highlighting the essence of an issue.
  • Strong collaborator who is comfortable with ambiguity and finding solutions in an inclusive manner.
  • Skilled and experienced in leading and motivating people in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong project management skills, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while delivering high-quality output across a variety of subject matter.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present information in a diplomatic, concise and compelling manner.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with little supervision as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Demonstrates operational excellence and a commitment to detail, while maintaining an understanding of the complexities surrounding collaboration and internal alignment in a global/regional matrix and remote organization.
  • Proficient in using Salesforce, project management tools (e.g. Hive) and all Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in event planning and execution.
  • Experience in content/copy editing and proofreading.
  • Experience in harnessing digital marcomms and social media.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems.
  • Leading and managing external agencies, consultants etc.
