The Senior Advisor, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender and Social Inclusion is an expert in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, gender, diversity, and inclusive humanitarian action, representing and positioning the organization as a leader in inclusive humanitarian research and advocacy across sectors. S/he is recognized and called upon by humanitarian, gender, disability, development, health, human rights, academic, UN, and government actors to contribute expertise on the protection and empowerment of women, children, and youth with diverse identities and from marginalized sub-populations, including (but not isolated to) those from sexual and gender minorities and those with disabilities.
Responsibilities include: Lead WRC’s work in a six-agency Consortium established to: increase the demand for and the availability of quality, comprehensive SRH services particularly among the most marginalized populations in complex and challenging environments; strengthen sexual and reproductive health and rights capacity, preparedness and resilience of government, civil society, and communities; and, improve the national and global policy environment. Advance implementation of the organization’s strategic plan on gender, social inclusion, and resilience; supervise staff working on disabilities, LGBTI persons, adolescents, and youth; identify solutions for more efficient and effective program management; high-level advocacy, coordination, and communication in the humanitarian sector, including with states, UN agencies, NGOs, and local organizations; monitoring and evaluating program activities, including outcomes towards the WRC’s wider organizational goals and objectives.
The position is full-time, based in New York with field travel (approximately 25% of time).
