The Director of Global Policy and Advocacy is responsible for overall leadership and direction in WfWI’s policy and advocacy portfolio which includes global, national and community strategies. This includes the development and implementation of a Global Policy and Advocacy Strategy that aligns with the Power of Women global organizational strategy. In addition to directly leading advocacy at the global level, the Director will liaise closely with Country Directors/Managing Directors in support of national level advocacy, as well as more community-level advocacy, driven by our graduate “Change Agents.”
The role involves designing new approaches, activities and projects related to advocacy, ensuring program quality and cross-organizational learning, and guaranteeing that the experience, vision and voice of the Change Agents as well as our learning from our program delivery and our monitoring, evaluation and research informs our global advocacy agenda.
The Director also plays a key role in resourcing WfWI’s advocacy work through leading on design for proposals and pitch documents and through networking with donors. She/he/they leads a small and dynamic team that raises the visibility of WfWI, increases awareness and understanding of our advocacy work, both internally and externally, including through representing the organization in key networks/coalitions. The combined efforts of the global and national teams aim to bring the voice, experience and learning of women survivors of war to influence those with the power to make decisions that impact their lives and livelihoods.
